1. Your free revision period
How long you have depends on the size of your order:
- Up to 20 pages or slides: 14 days after delivery.
- More than 20 pages: 30 days after delivery. Longer projects such as capstones, theses and dissertation chapters usually fall here.
2. How pages are counted
Pages are counted as on your order and its price: a double-spaced page is about 275 words, and a single-spaced page counts as two. The period starts on the day your order is delivered, and you can ask for a revision at any point within it.
3. What a free revision covers
A free revision brings the paper in line with the instructions and files you gave when you placed the order. For example:
- A part of the prompt or a rubric criterion that was missed or only partly answered.
- Comments from your instructor that point to something your original instructions asked for.
- Citations, references or formatting that don't follow the style you chose.
- Sources that don't meet the requirements you gave, such as their number, type or age.
- Mistakes in facts, calculations, grammar or clarity.
4. As many rounds as the paper needs
Within your free revision period there's no limit on the number of revisions, as long as each request keeps to your original instructions. Clear requests that point to the rubric, the prompt or your instructor's comments get the best results, often in a single round.
5. When changes cost extra
Revisions are based on the instructions you gave when you placed the order. Instructions added after delivery are new work and are charged, for example:
- A new or different topic, which changes the whole paper.
- A different rubric, prompt or assignment from the one you ordered with.
- More pages, slides or sources, or a higher academic level.
- A different citation style or new formatting requirements.
- Extra parts that weren't in the order, such as an abstract, an appendix or a presentation.
6. We always quote first
When a request includes new instructions, or arrives after your free revision period has ended, we tell you the cost before any work starts, and nothing is charged unless you agree. Any part of the request that keeps to your original instructions stays free within the period.
7. How to request a revision
Open your order from Track my order and choose Request a revision. Explain what should change and why, pointing to the rubric, the prompt or your instructor's comments, and add marked-up files to the order if you have them. We check the request against your original instructions, your writer revises the paper, and we email you when the new version is ready to download.
8. How long a revision takes
Most revisions are returned within the length of your original deadline, often sooner. If you need it by a particular date, say so in your request and we'll tell you whether that's possible.
9. If a revision doesn't fix it
If the paper still doesn't meet your original instructions after a revision, you can request a partial or full refund under our refund policy. Not sure whether a change is free? Ask us in live chat or on the contact page before you send the request.
